The Coca-Cola Company and World Economic Forum Announce Winners of the Coca-Cola Shaping a Better Future Grant Challenge

The Coca-Cola Company today announced the 2015 winners of the Coca-Cola Shaping a Better Future Grant Challenge – a competition exclusively for members of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community. Global Shapers are young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who are organized into a network of nearly 500 city-based hubs. For the competition, Global Shapers launch projects that address the world’s most challenging issues, with the opportunity to win seed money to expand their initiatives.

Papa John’s International Continues European Expansion and Announces Plans to Enter Madrid, Spain

Papa John’s International today announced the signing of a development agreement to open over 100 restaurants in Madrid and the surrounding area. PJ Espana Pizzerias S.L.., the master franchisee for this agreement, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Drake Enterprises AG, the same owner of the Papa John’s franchisee in Chile, is set to open its first unit during the second quarter of 2016.

Olenex to Become a Full-Function Joint Venture

Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) and Wilmar International Limited (SGX: F34) announced today that they have entered into an agreement whereby Olenex, their partnership to market oils and fats in Europe, will become a full-function joint venture with its own assets. As part of the agreement, ADM will transfer two sites—a specialty oils and fats facility and a palm refining plant in Hamburg, Germany—to the new joint venture. Wilmar will transfer its tropical oils processing plants in Brake, Germany and Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In addition to processing, the joint venture will also integrate raw materials sourcing, trading, and sales and marketing operations. The agreement also stipulates that refined oils and fats from ADM’s other plants in the Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and the U.K. will be marketed by Olenex.
