New Solid Hydrogen-on-Demand Fuel Cell from HES Energy Systems Flies ST Aerospace UAV for Record 6 Hours

A consortium of Singaporean institutions and private sector companies including HES Energy Systems, ST Aerospace, DSO National Laboratories, and the Future Systems and Technology Directorate of Singapore’s Ministry of Defense, have worked jointly to achieve a record 6 hour endurance, 300km flight on the Skyblade 360 UAV built in Singapore by ST Aerospace. Besides achieving a significant technical and performance milestone for hydrogen-on-demand enabled fuel cells, it is also the first time in the world that a fuel cell moves beyond the prototype stage and enters the standard products list of a UAV manufacturer. The Skyblade 360 UAV and its fuel cell system are currently on display on ST Engineering’s booth at the 2016 Singapore Air Show.

Republic of Georgia Selects Anaklia Development Consortium to Build a Deep Sea Port in Anaklia

Georgia’s Ministry of Economy & Sustainable Development today announced that the Anaklia Development Consortium LLC has been awarded the contract to build and develop a Deep Sea Port in Anaklia. The $2.5 billion project will establish a new maritime corridor between China and Europe, helping restore the historic Silk Road and stimulating national and regional economic growth.

GAF Announces the Acquisition of Icopal

GAF, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Icopal (“the Company”), a leading pan-European manufacturer of roofing and other waterproofing products, from Investcorp Ltd for approximately €1 billion. The transaction, which builds upon GAF’s market-leading products by adding a portfolio of high-quality brands in Europe and the United States, will create the world’s pre-eminent roofing company. The acquisition is expected to close by the second quarter of 2016.
