The CIS region has recently seen major changes in the upstream market. Competing pipeline projects have swiftly moved forward or unexpectedly lost investment, while the most influential contracts in the oil and gas history have been signed. However, with consistent uncertainty in the industry, the CIS Oil & Gas Summit will present a comprehensive analysis on the region’s industries whilst providing access to nearly 300 key industry decision makers.

Organized by The Energy Exchange and supported by TOTAL, the 13th consecutive CIS Oil & Gas Summit will be held from 21 – 23 May 2013 at The Westin Paris – Vendome, Paris, France. The Summit will highlight all the opportunities and challenges that are present in the region, along with access to influential leaders from SOCAR, BP Azerbaijan, Gazprom, Shtokman Development AG, European Commission, Wintershall and Statoil amongst many others.

The future of oil and gas supply is affected by global as well as local factors. Leading analysts from the USA, Japan, China and Australia will be in attendance to give their insight on the world’s market dynamics.

The latest regulatory changes and supply demand dynamics that influence key E&P decisions in the CIS will be discussed on day one of the Summit. Industry leaders will discuss the role of Azerbaijan as an alternative natural gas supplier for Europe – with predicted production volumes of 50 billion cubic meters per year by the end of 2025 -; and the reasons for the European orientation of Turkmenistan – a country that ranks fourth in the world for natural gas reserves.

Furthermore, speakers will showcase the latest gas market changes in the CIS and illustrate how America’s changing energy landscape will influence the supply and demand dynamics in Europe and Russia.

Day two will feature discussions on the latest project updates in the region. Strategic plans to develop the potential of already existing resources as well as new opportunities, specifically the Southern Corridor and the Northern Sea route.

Two highly informative panel discussions will also take place. The first being on how Russia’s role as a key gas supplier (currently producing 655.007 billion cubic meters of gas) to Europe will change in the next 10 – 15 years; and the second presenting different opinions about the future of the oil and gas market in Europe.

Day three is a focus day highlighting the LNG, offshore and tight oil opportunities in the CIS. Topics to be covered on this day include: the role of Rosneft in the Arctic; LNG prospects illustrating urgent steps for long-term benefits; existing unconventional pilot projects in Russia; how to cost-effectively take advantage of tight resources in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan and when will it become economic to develop them; amongst others.
